Don Peifer began his career in lighting as a designer for such famed fashion designers as Annie Leibovitz and Steven Klein. He graduated from the renown Lighting Research Center at RPI and began his own architectural design practice. Projects included a Nike Media Store in NYC, the Lake Placid Olympic Torch Tower and the 911 Pentagon Memorial.
He founded Lunera Lighting in 2007, a VC-backed start-up, which provided lighting for the fleet of Apple Stores and a host of Fortune 500 companies. He went on to become VP of Innovation for Acuity Brands and the Creative Director for Legrand’s Lighting Sector. He is a visiting professor at UC Boulder.
When he is not designing lighting products, he enjoys cycling through the hills of Silicon Valley where he lives with his wife and two sons.
